When I first learned about Beachbody coaching in 2010, I avoided it like the plague as soon as I heard the words "Network Marketing". Without listening to another word, I shut it down, and threw it way, way, way to the back of my mind.
Buried as it was in the back of my mind, it persisted in pushing forward time and time again, until finally, in a moment of desperation, I signed up and became a Beachbody coach. With very little belief and no expectations, this business quickly has become one of the biggest blessings of my life.
But more on that later. For now, learn more about the 5 reasons I avoided Beachbody Like the the plague!

3 Types of Beachbody Coaches
Did you know that not all Beachbody coaches are alike? Beachbody coaches make the decision to become coaches for different reasons, approach the business differently, and have different goals. Most likely, all Beachbody coaches fit into one of these three categories...
Discount Coach:
You LOVE the products, especially Shakeology, and you want to get your 25% off every month.
You don't have to build a team, you don't have to sell a thing. If people do
purchase from your website, you still receive the commission. You love a good deal and saving some money.
Hobby Coach: Beachbody products changed your life, and you want to pay it forward!
You want to help others reach their fitness goals, and if you can make a few
hundred extra dollars per month doing it...great! You aren't TOO interested in
building a team, but wouldn't turn anyone away either. You want to start slow,
and go at your own pace. You start out running challenge groups with your upline coach until you are ready to branch out on your own. You love the products and want to share them with others!
Business-Building Coach:
You have
been completely inspired by the lives Beachbody has changed and are ready to go all
in. You believe in yourself and this company and you are ready to learn and
work towards making a significant income by helping others become the best they
can be. You want to participate and be active in the trainings your upline coach has to offer. You are ready to build a business.
All of these types of coaches are great. Beachbody became the company it was because of these kinds of coaches. What kind of coach are you?

What is Beachbody Coaching?
I have been staring at my computer screen trying to figure out how to put in to words (and not TOO MANY words at that) what Beachbody coaching is and how it has changed my life. But I'm going to try.
WHAT IS A BEACHBODY COACH?
As a Beachbody coach you promote Beachbody products (like Insanity, P90X3, TurboFire, T25, Shakeology, etc) through social media and word of mouth. You earn a 25% commission off of any products that you sell. You also earn team bonuses if you choose to build a team of people underneath you.
So I know what you are thinking…this is a pyramid scheme and I have to be a salesperson. I know you are thinking this because that's what I was thinking when I first heard about the opportunity! : )
But what I love about Beachbody is that they don't want you to be a salesperson. They want you to share your experience and what you love about your Beachbody products. They want you to encourage and motivate others to reach their health goals. That's it. Beachbody coaches share. They don't sell. And I could have 100 people who chose to partner with me, but if they aren't making any money, then I'm not making any money. If you succeed, I succeed.
CHALLENGE GROUPS
Beachbody coaches run challenge groups. When customers purchase products, you add them to a closed Facebook group where you post daily motivation, fitness and nutrition tips, and assignments. This is an easy way to stay in touch with your customers, and help keep them on the right track. And NO, you don't have to be a fitness or nutrition expert. You are simply sharing what has worked for YOU, and using your experiences to help guide your challengers.
INVESTMENT
You can take this business at your own pace because there is only a $40 sign up fee and $16/month fee. IDEALLY, you are also ordering Shakeology (with a 25% discount) because it will be hard to convince others to drink it if you are not. So for your monthly fee and Shakeology purchase you will pay $115.55/month. The point is, it's not like there is a huge investment you are trying to recoup or large monthly fee you have to cover every month. There is nearly NOTHING TO LOSE.
BENEFITS
- You receive a 25% commission on anything somebody buys from Beachbody using one of your links. If a friend buys Shakeology, you make $30.
- You can create your own team of coaches surrounding yourself with others who are passionate about their health and helping others' change their lives. If you choose to pursue this side of the business, your income potential is virtually limitless.
- You receive a 25% discount on all Beachbody products including merchandise.
- You get paid on a weekly basis.
- No inventory to purchase and hold because Beachbody takes care of everything.
- Access to an entire team of experts on health and fitness.
- Access to marketing materials and guidance on how to build your business.
- MOTIVATION TO GET IN THE BEST SHAPE OF YOUR LIFE

How I Became a Beachbody Coach
Becoming a Beachbody coach was something I never thought I would do. I first heard about the opportunity in 2010 and I scoffed as soon as I heard "multi-level marketing". Obviously it was a pyramid scheme. Keep in mind, this was around the time of Mona Vie. Remember that stuff? I was very jaded and very skeptical. Plus I am sure I was the worst salesperson ever. I couldn't fathom trying to sell products to people, let alone try to recruit other people to sell the products. No way. Not me.
Fast forward three years, and one of my closest friends became a Rodan and Fields consultant. I strongly considered joining her, but felt like I should explore the Beachbody opportunity again since I have a lot more credibility in the fitness industry. I briefly looked in to it and then I found out I was pregnant with twins and decided I couldn't and shouldn't take anything else on. Once again, Beachbody went to the back burner of my mind.
Throughout last year, I noticed on Facebook that Lindsay Matway (who originally approached me about Beachbody back in 2010) seemed to be doing quite well with Beachbody. Quite well is an understatement. Lindsay Matway was the #1 coach out of over 100,000 coaches in the company. I could have kicked myself for not joining her back then. Who knows where I would have been?
Two months after giving birth to perfect twin boys, Lindsay posted that she was looking for new coaches, and something in me was JUST READY. So I filled out an application right then, and the rest is history.
I am enjoying the experience more than I ever could have imagined. I don't feel like I am selling to people, I feel like I am helping people! With my personal training background, this job is truly the best of both worlds- staying home with my sweet babies, yet still being able to motivate and inspire others to reach their fitness goals. As someone who hasn't had a job in five years, the feeling of receiving that first paycheck was priceless. I am so grateful for Beachbody and the coaching opportunity. I encourage those of you who are considering it to act now! Don't be me three years ago! Who knows where YOU will be three years from now?!
